Smile! Can you?

Or does it look a bit colorful?

There some natural and safe things you can do at home to make your teeth look better.

Why not trying? They are all easy to do. Some of them you can start right now.

Baking Soda

Try brushing your teeth with baking soda: 2 teaspoons of water and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

It creates an alkaline environment (preventing bacteria from growing) and can scrub away surface stains on your teeth. Over some significant time you may notice an effect. By the way toothpastes containing baking soda has a whitening effect.

Hydrogen Peroxide

For many years hydrogen perioxide has been used to desinfect wounds as it is able to kill bacteria. Toothpastes containing 1% hydrogen and peroxide baking soda leads to significantly whiter teeth. There are some questions regarding the safety of this product though.

The best way to use this products is as a mouthwash. You need to use a 1.5% solution to avoid negative effects.

You can easily dilute the most common commercial concentration to 1.5% by mixing equal parts of water and perioxide.

Vegetables and Fruits

A diet high in fiber is good for your body and teeth as crunchy fruits and vegetables can rub plaque away while you are busy chewing.

The best whitening fruits are strawberries and pineapples. Some people make a mixture of strawberries and soda. However, there is no evidence this mixture can whiten your teeth.

Brushing and Flossing

Anyway, brushing your teeth twice a day is a must. Do it right before going to bed and in the morning. If you have a chance, try to brush your teeth everytime after a meal.

Flossing after each meal helps too. Moreover, visiting a dentist for a regular check-up and cleaning is essential. Cleaning prevents a build-up of yellow plaque.

EXTRA TIP:

Take care of your vitamins intake. It is proved that taking a multi-vitamin helps to improve your dental health in general and make your smile brighter. Calcium and Vitamin D are essential for stronger bones and whiter enamel!
