Week #5: August 9 – August 16

Creature

Our next challenge: creature.

This week we invite you to wrap your mind around the concept of CREATURE.

You may draw just your favorite real-life animal, or you may expand it to imaginary beings.

We also encourage you to mix in some ethnical and national traits. Depending on the country you are coming from, you might consider researching some regional myths and legends to get inspired.

Nowadays growing popularity of games and fantasy draws a keen interest to this topic.

Think about the environment your CREATURE inhabits. Is it a woods or sea creature?

Get your pens, pencils, inks and colors ready (you can buy them at Blick, where you can find anything you need)!

And start experimenting

Do not forget that being a part of Art Challenge means not only sharing but also learning!

Do not forget a simple fact that creating creature design starts with drawing real animals! That’s why we encourage you to sketch and draw our favourite animals and pets: cats, dogs, fish, hamsters.

Art Challenge 10: Imagine 2021

Are you tired of 2020? Seems like it is not the best year.

Let’s imagine what 2021 would be like.

In partnership with Art Challenge – a small artistic community – we decided to promote this kind of meditation – meditation through Art.

Now it is a right moment to remind ourselves of Imagine, the song written by John Lennon almost exactly 50 years ago! “50 years ago” will happen next year. This year we can only dream about the future and do everything we can for this better future to come!

Our first task for fellow artists is CAKE! This challenge has been on since 2017 and this year we celebrate our 3rd birthday!

For this task you can use any materals and mediums.

If you are a complete beginner, we do not recommend investing much money into this Art adventure. You can simply shop in Walmart for the necessary pencil and eraser (although you can find a lot of things in Walmart!).

If you feel like a professional, you can find practically everything in The Works shop in UK. In USA you can go to Artenza, they have a fun spin wheel discount if you register

Do you want to be a bit less conventional about your art? As we said you can use any technique, we had some participants who suddenly decided to sew a blanket! By the way for great sewing machines and everything related to sewing go to SewingMachinesPlus.

Here is an idea: create your own piece of clothing featuring your design. Or create a little bit more professional birthday card by using machines by Cricut!
