Valentine’s Day, the day of love, is just around the corner, and it’s time to infuse romance into every moment. Whether you’re celebrating with a longtime partner, a new flame, or embracing self-love, there are endless ways to make this day special. Here’s a guide to creating a memorable Valentine’s Day filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments.

1. A Thoughtful Gift Exchange:

  • Show your appreciation with a thoughtful gift. Consider personalized items, such as custom jewelry, monogrammed keepsakes, or a carefully curated gift basket filled with their favorite treats. The extra touch of personalization goes a long way in conveying your love.

2. Culinary Delights:

  • They say the way to the heart is through the stomach, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to put this saying into action. Plan a romantic dinner at home with a menu of their favorite dishes or explore a new cuisine together. Don’t forget dessert — perhaps a heart-shaped cake or artisanal chocolates.

3. Adventure for Two:

  • For the adventurous duo, consider a unique experience. Whether it’s a hot air balloon ride, a scenic hike, or a weekend getaway to a charming bed and breakfast, create memories that go beyond the traditional dinner-and-a-movie routine.

4. Cozy Movie Night:

  • If a relaxed evening is more your style, opt for a cozy movie night at home. Create a fort with blankets and pillows, gather a selection of your favorite films, and indulge in homemade popcorn. It’s a simple yet intimate way to enjoy each other’s company.

5. Virtual Connection:

  • In the age of technology, distance doesn’t have to dampen the celebration. Arrange a virtual date night with your partner if you’re apart. Share a virtual meal, play online games together, or watch a movie simultaneously while video chatting.

6. DIY Love Notes:

  • Express your feelings with handwritten love notes. Scatter these notes in places your partner frequents, such as their workspace, car, or pockets. Each note can convey a different sentiment, creating a treasure hunt of love.

7. Wellness Retreat:

  • Indulge in self-love or couple’s wellness activities. Book a spa day, practice yoga together, or plan a rejuvenating nature walk. Taking care of your well-being is a beautiful way to celebrate love.

8. Trendy Tech Gifts:

  • Stay on top of trends with tech-savvy gifts. Consider smart devices like personalized playlists on a smart speaker, a fitness tracker for an active partner, or a virtual reality experience for a unique and immersive gift.

9. Artistic Expressions:

  • Get creative with artistic expressions of love. Take a painting or pottery class together, write a poem, or create a scrapbook filled with your favorite memories. It’s a heartfelt way to showcase your artistic flair and celebrate your connection.

10. Sustainable Surprises:

  • Embrace sustainability by choosing eco-friendly gifts. Opt for ethically sourced jewelry, plant a tree together, or support local artisans. Celebrating love while caring for the planet is a thoughtful and conscious choice.

Remember, the most meaningful gestures often come from the heart. Whether your Valentine’s Day is filled with grand gestures or quiet moments of connection, the key is to celebrate love in a way that feels authentic to you and your partner. Here’s to a day filled with warmth, affection, and the joy of being in love!

Some people don’t prepare anything special on this day. How about you? You can stick to buying something classic, for instance chocolates, candles, cards and flowers. Otherwise we have some other ideas for you:

Valentine’s Day around the globe https://lifestylearchitects.club/day-around-the-globe/ Tue, 01 Feb 2022 10:15:14 +0000 https://lifestylearchitects.club/?p=2353

Roses are red, violets are blue,
Honey is sweet, and so are you.

Valentine’s Day is a very popular holiday worldwide. This is the day when you can hear declarations of love, receive and give cute gifts or go on a romantic trip. This is how Valentine’s Day is usually celebrated, but in other countries there are different traditions of celebrating February 14th. Not all of them are similar to ours, so you will be interested to know what people from other countries do on this day.

Bulgaria

Here, the Valentine’s Day coincides with another event – the Day of Vineyards. So in Bulgaria, according to tradition, people drink wine. By the way one of the symbols of Bulgaria is a rose (cause there are plenty). If you are looking for an original Valentine’s gift, check out Lovepop shop selling pop-up cards and paper crafts:

Belarus

In Belarus, on Valentine’s Day, people congratulate not only loved ones, but also friends and parents. And this holiday is considered to be the day of kisses.

Egypt

Valentine’s Day in Egypt has gained popularity solely due to the fact that February is the height of the holiday season in this country. The holiday is celebrated mainly by foreign tourists. But in fairness, it must be said that the Egyptian resorts are on a grand scale: hotels and tourist complexes offer an unforgettable romantic meeting of Valentine’s Day on the sea coast in luxurious restaurants and nightclubs.

Iceland

In Iceland, Valentine’s Day coincides with the pagan fire festival. Young people light bonfires, jump over them, and then the girls hang embers from the extinguished flame on the guys’ necks.

Japan

The Japanese, in turn, on Valentine’s Day hold a competition for the loudest declaration of love. On a specially built platform, men and women try to shout their feelings as loudly as possible. Gifts are given to the loudest. It is interesting that gifts are received mainly by men. Girls and women of all ages buy chocolates and sweets and give them to the opposite sex. However, exactly a month later, on March 14, men give white chocolate to their chosen ones. This day is called “White Day”, and this holiday is only for women.

What could be a decent present for a man? How about a musical one? Check out Vnyl shop for a magical physical music subscription:

Poland

Most of all, according to the Poles, it was they who were lucky. After all, it is in Poland, according to legend, that the relics of this saint are buried. Therefore, on February 14, lovers of this country try to visit the Poznan metropolis to look at the remains and pray to its miraculous icon. All this should help in achieving love well-being.

Wales

In Wales, the tradition of exchanging wooden spoons is still preserved. They are carved from wood, painted with hearts, keys and locks. Such a gift can mean the following: “You have found the way to my heart.”

Visit ManCrates for original gifts for her (and him)

Finland

In Finland, Valentine’s Day coincides with Friends Day. The traditions of celebrating Valentine’s Day came here from the USA. According to sociologists, the merger of the two holidays speaks of the Finns’ desire for equality between men and women. On a romantic holiday, Finns give each other hearts-valentines.

All nations have somewhat different customs, but in general they are similar: sweets, flowers, heart-shaped cards. In a word, give your loved ones a holiday, talk about your feelings, and not only on February 14, but every day. This is exactly what Saint Valentine taught, who accepted death in the name of love.

DIY Gift Ideas for Valentine’s Day https://lifestylearchitects.club/diy-gift-ideas-for-valentines-day/ Tue, 02 Feb 2021 13:53:50 +0000 https://lifestylearchitects.club/?p=1456

There are plenty of things you can buy, there are few things that you can make yourself!

But those DIY things, don’t they show the real feeling?

Here are some insights for you to consider this Valentine season.

Handmade Card

We already spoke about it in our previous posts. And if you decide to buy your present the best thing to do is to make a card to accompany it. It doesn’t have to look stunning and extraordinary. It has to be real and awkward. But this way your better half will know you cared enough to invest your time and effort into making it!

Candle Making Kit

How about making a candle? Candles are loved by everyone these days as they create a nice hygge vibe.

You can make it yourself. Thus, not only you’ll create a precious gift to your loved one, but also you’ll have a chance to meditate! By the way Candle Making Kit from Firebox can be a great gift for Arts and Crafts enthusiast.

Chocolate Spoons

An easy version of chocolate bombs that are super popular these days. Take a regular metal spoon, melt some chocolate and add some treats in (nuts, dried fruit and sprinkles)! You can tie a bow around it or place it into a transparent bag. Place it in your coffee after and it’ll spice your srink up!

Sweet Picnic Gift Hamper

If the weather allows, have a romantic picnic with your lover! If would be awesome to make all the snacks and dessert by yourself (check out our Healthy Eating section for some ideas). Otherwise, there are some special hampers and boxes here at Edible Blooms:

TIP: If you already have some present ready, just buy an edible bouquet to pair it with!

One more idea: Look through these Experience Boxes and get inspired! Get a chocolate or fruit bouquet and make your own experience box with some products that suit your special someone better than the ones they suggest in this shop)

Last Minute Homemade Chocolates on Valentine’s Day https://lifestylearchitects.club/last-minute-homemade-chocolates-on-valentines-day/ Wed, 27 Jan 2021 13:01:43 +0000 https://lifestylearchitects.club/?p=1435

They don’t have to be last minute 🙂

But everything that is hand-made shows we really care, right?

Making chocolates is not that difficult and it shows love like nothing else. Handmade chocolates may look awkward but they mean you put some time and effort. Pair it with some nice wine and the most romantic Valentine present is ready!

We offer you two options: to make chocolate on your own or use any chocolate bar you have (that is easier).

In case you decide to make a chocolate from scratch, here is a basic recipe (we included US and metric system).

Ingredients:

Milk powder – 190 gram or 1 1/2 cup

Cocoa powder (without added sugar) – 128 gram or 1 cup

Sugar – 150 gram or 3/4 cup

Water – 60 ml or 1/4 cup

Butter – 75 gram or 1/3 cup

Optional Ingredients:

Chopped nuts (peanuts, hazelnuts, cashew,  almonds)

Dried fruit (raisins, cranberries etc.)

Cinnamon

Finely chopped ginger/lemon or orange zest – our personal favorite

You can blend in nuts and dried fruits right in your chocolate paste.

How?

  1. Mix the milk powder and the cocoa powder together. Leave them aside for later.
  2. Mix the powdered sugar and water in a pan with a thick bottom. Keep it on low heat and let it simmer.
  3. When it starts boiling and sugar dissolves, put in the butter.  Let it melt.
  4. Add the milk and cocoa powder mixture to the butter mixture. Mix carefully.
  5. Take the mixture off the heat. Add additinal inredients now, if you wish.
  6. Pour the mixture into a container or a mold.
  7. Let it cool down.

TIP: Fill it with some “treat”

You can use some sprinkles to decorate your chocolates. You can also put a whole nut into your chocolate mold or a piece of marzipan or some other “treat”. You can be as creative as you wish!

TIP 2: Make it even easier!

The super easy version of homemade chocolates!! Take an actual chocolate bar and melt it! Then pour the mixture into the mold! Use some chopped nut or dried fruit etc. to make your chocolates a bit more special!

TIP 3: Wrap it up!

Now, the most responsible part: wrapping! You chocolates absolutely must go into a beautiful box! Think about it!

Prepare a nice heart-shaped box or take any box and wrap it into an appropriate paper 🙂 Make it extra sweet from the outside.

Valentine’s Day: FAQ https://lifestylearchitects.club/valentines-day-faq/ Wed, 20 Jan 2021 19:28:22 +0000 https://lifestylearchitects.club/?p=1392

One of the most romantic holidays is coming and we decided to reply the most common questions you may have.

This Lovers’ Day is celebrated on February 14. It is called Valentine’s Day or Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine. Start thinking what to get to your loved ones (and maybe friends) and we will help you with inspiration in our next posts. And here are some facts about this day that you may not know:

What is the history behind St Valentine’s Day?

The history of this holiday is the mystery. It is sort of a mix of Christian, Roman (ritual of Lupercalia that welcomed spring) and Victorian England (card-giving customs) traditions.

From February 13 to February 15, the Romans celebrated Lupercalia, which included a matchmaking lottery (young men took out the names of women from a jar). The couple would be involved in ‘romantic’ (or sexual) relationship for the duration of the festival.

The ancient Romans may also have given the name of our modern love festival. One of the versions is that on February 14 Emperor Claudius II executed two men named Valentine  in the 3rd century A.D. Their martyrdom was honored by the Catholic Church with the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day.

Who was the St Valentine?

One legend says Valentine was a priest who served during the 3rd century A.D. Emperor Claudius II decided single men were better soldiers than family men, so he outlawed marriage. Valentine defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young men and women in secret. When his actions were discovered, Emperor ordered him to be put to death.

What does the Bible say about Valentine’s Day?

It doesn’t say exactly about the Valentine’s Day, but Bible teaches about love. Here is an example:

1 John 4:7-12. Dear friends: let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Why do we give chocolates on Valentine’s Day?

Chocolate really has a very long history as a love food. Passion for chocolate was spread among Mayan and Aztec upper class elites.

Later, by the early 1600s, the fashion for chocolate had swept across Europe, chocolate houses became social gathering spots.

Valentine’s Day became a commercial holiday during the time of Queen Victoria, as Victorians started showering their lovers with Cupid-covered gifts and cards.

Then Richard Cadbury, a British chocolate manufacturerer, invented solid chocolate for eating (before it was a drink). Being a marketing genius, Cadbury started putting rosebuds and Cupids on heart-shaped boxes in 1861.
