Mother’s Day is coming soon!
Do you have any idea how to spend this day?
It is scientifically proved that new memories and impressions make us the happiest! So, make sure not only to present your mom with some material things, but also to create some fresh and exciting memories together. Spend some quality family time, here are some ideas how (choose the ones that fit your life situation and age):
Breakfast in bed
If you live together with your mom (or you’d like also to congratulate your sister/grandma) – why not waking up earlier and make a cup of coffee and some easy and quick breakfast? It can be as difficult as you are ready to make it. From muesli with milk to Belgian waffles.
Home-made brunch/dinner
It can be less of a surprise but let your mom know in advance that on this day she doesn’t have to be busy in the kitchen. Instead, you can ask her idea of a perfect family dinner and make it happen!
At Home Spa Day
Another easy to do idea. This is something a teenager can do. Handmade bath salts, face masks, candles and perfumed sticks. You can give your mother a nice face/hand massage (with a self-made mask) and let her enjoy a bubble bath alone in silence (or with a good music) after it. Don’t forget to make a nice warm cup of tea after (and maybe cook some dinner while she is busy in the bathroom).
Make Something (you are good at)
Does you mom compliment your drawing? Hang a picture in her bedroom! Are you good at music? Write her a song! You got the idea 🙂
Book Her Favorite Restaurant
If COVID situation around you allows that!
Play Outside
Sounds childish but if you are a part of a bigger family, it is a fun thing to do! There are plenty of lawn games you can play in the backyard or in the nearest park.
Go shopping
Some women do enjoy shopping. Suggest going to the mall and buying something special (jewelry, clothing, china or any other kitchen/home utensils). Be careful, not all the women will appreciate it! Personally, I hate shopping adn I am a middle-aged woman! So, you either have to be sure or ask beforehand!
Cook Together
Actually why not throwing a theme party? For example, DIY Pizza Party? Hand-made cookies? I promise it’ll be fun! And everyone can be involved!
Attend a Master Class together
Again, if COVID allows it, why not attending some open class? Flower arranging class sounds very motherly! Or a cooking class! Or a yoga class? Wine tasting? If not possible offline, you can get a virtual course! Make sure your mom will like it though (if you are not – ask!).
Go for a Walk or Picnic
This time of the year the weather is great wherever you live. Spend time outside, hike some mountain or have a picnic! Say some nice warm words to your mother and make some family photos!
Have a Movie Marathon
Does you mom have a favorite actor or a TV show? Why not throwing an event? Get all the best movies with this actor, turn on TV and let it roll the whole day while serving food from the movies! It is a great idea! You can watch movies, stop for food and a nice conversation. Then continue!
Weekend Getwaway
If possible, take it to the next level! Get out to a different unknown location. It is extra fun!
Have a Game night
Not necessarily outside, just play any games you love. Maybe play the charades or solve a puzzle.
Create your own combination
All these ideas can be easily combined! Creat your own special and unique Mother’s Day activity!
